Sölden
Sölden is Austria’s first winter sports resort to offer the keen skier 3 superbly developed three thousand meter high mountains, known as the BIG3.
A modern 24-person gondola gives access to “Gaislachkogl”, “Tiefenbachkogl” and “Schwarze Schneide” are serviced by 8-person gondolas.
Austria’s first glacier tour winding across 3 mountains through an incredible elevation gain of 10,000 meters!
At 3,058 meters altitude, Gaislachkogl, the first of the “Great 3” peaks, is almost small for Ötztal standards. Next in height comes Tiefenbachkogl at 3,309 meters which is already considerably higher. But Schwarze Schneide tops them all with 3,370 meters. It is not only the highest of Sölden’s skiable mountains but also the youngest as it was just developed for skiing in the October of 2003.
Those who ski the BIG3 in one can proof not only that they have the necessary brawn to overcome a difference in elevation of almost 10,000 meters, but also enjoy one of the most spectacular and awe-inspiring mountain views Austria has to offer.
