The condition of the ski runs in Tyrol's Ski-Dimension is ideal smooth and velvety white thanks to a high-standard grooming scheme. Every bit of the 160 kilometres of slopes is kept in this top condition day after day, night after night. This snow lover's dream can be accessed by 53 powerful and modern cable cars and lifts that operate efficiently and providing modern comfort at 1,200 to 2,800 metres above sea level and in Tyrol's Ski-Dimension there is no risk of a dreaded ski lift queue. The snow god does not really need help in keeping up with the snow in this almost 3,000 metres high skiing region. But just in case, there are snowmaking installations set up at all important points on the ski runs, ready to add a little more white where required. If there is anything worth criticising about Tyrol's Ski-Dimension, then it is the name, which implies that this winter arena is only meant for skiers, and that is not exactly true. Numerous freeride slopes and two fun parks create a phenomenal playground for snowboarders and enthusiasts of the new winter fun sports.

Down below a swift underground train, up above a beautiful village: Serfaus
The most notable feature of Serfaus is in fact not notable. Or notable precisely because you do not notice it. This sounds complex, but is easy to explain. Strolling through the snowy village, you immediately feel the pleasurable difference other villages' popularity can be measured by the number of cars driving in and out, but there is no such thing in Serfaus. Apart from the weekends with guests arriving or departing, Serfaus is tranquil a pedestrian paradise. The originator of this phenomenon can be found underground where it moves swiftly and silently. From the village entrance to the Komperdell cableway bottom-station, a hovercraft train picks up passengers and their skis at two stopping points in the village and transports them comfortably to their venue and back again. Serfaus sets a high value on service and convenience, as is evident in the wide variety of facilities in the village and in the skiing region. At the terminal underground station there is the new "S1-Zentrum". This infotainment centre is one of a kind in Europe and includes a ski school office, a sky bar, a cigar lounge, VIP shop, and the "Check in" ski rental and ski depot right next door. Adults swing up to the middle Komperdell station on fast gondolas, while children can use their very own "Murmli" truck. Having arrived at the top, other Serfaus specialities await you: "Take off center", a unique venue for the new winter sports with rental and instruction services, and the "Kinderschneealm". Not wanting to overstate the obvious, this is one of the best entertainment centres for children in the Alps, with a children's ski school, a ski kindergarten with day-care facilities, countless game and adventure areas, a tubing park, a skidoo track, as well as a children's restaurant with its own currency. The latest addition is the so-called "Murmli Trail" with eight event stations and talking figures. And, speaking of new introductions, the "Family-Cross-Area" has just opened in Plansegg a fun park for the entire family. What's more, the network has been expanded and now includes an 8-person cable car leading to the 2,800m high Pezid. Having mentioned the "invisible" benefits of Serfaus at the beginning, here is another tangible one: the high standard of the hotel, catering, and entertainment industry. There are numerous 4 and 5 star hotels in Serfaus, as well as a wide range of themed hotels catering for families or wellness fans. Apart from the excellent hotel cuisine there are very good restaurants and alpine cabins with first-class food. A highlight in entertainment is the "Adventure Night" that takes place once a week and very elegantly combines music events with a laser show, dinner, and night skiing.

The attractive neighbour: Fiss
If you already know Serfaus and drive towards Fiss, you get the impression that the village, situated quite snugly on the slope, is Serfaus' twin, and that it looked for its own little spot in the sun and settled down two kilometres further. In actual fact, Fiss has just as much history as Serfaus, and though it may resemble its neighbour in a very familiar way it does have a character of its own. The village has a more rural atmosphere, with many vacation apartments and family-run hotels. The access road that connects the Inn valley with the sunny plateau and Serfaus leads past Fiss, so the place itself is very peaceful. Getting to Tyrol's Ski-Dimension is just as easy as from Serfaus. Both the "Schönjochbahn" and the "Möseralmbahn" bring you directly to the ski runs, and then there is the "Waldlift" on the edge of the village. New to the Fiss side of Tyrol's Ski-Dimension is the "Schönjoch-Abfahrt West" which leads from Schönjoch to the middle cablecar station and can be reconditioned with snow anytime. One of Fiss' most outstanding features, however, is the "Race & Fun Area". Snowboarders have their own little "scenes" that are very difficult to break into. In the last few years Fiss put a lot of effort into innovation and succeeded. Its "Race & Fun Area" is now part of the "scene". A fun and practice arena, BoarderX, an undulating run, rails and music non-stop make the park exactly what boarders would consider "cool". The "Boarderclub" offers the ideal meeting place for insiders and supports those who want to rise up to the sacred Levels 7-9. For youngsters who do not know yet whether they are more the snowboarder or the carver type, because they are barely able to stand properly on either board, there is "Bertas Kinderland". This extensive winter world for children is situated at the middle "Sonnenbahn" station and comprises a kindergarten and ski school, several fun and adventure areas, a tubing track and a children's restaurant called "Kinderplanet". As to the nightlife in Fiss: make a mental note of Tuesdays. That's when "Nightflow" takes place, a journey through time on the snowy Möseralm, including dinner and night skiing.

Romance and history: Ladis
Those who seek a cosy refuge at the foot of Tyrol's Ski-Dimension, with a romantic castle whose lights shine all the way down to the Inn valley, will love Ladis. In the village centre there are still Rhaeto-Romanic houses with fresco ornaments, and everywhere you go you sense the magic of the past without feeling that you have reached the end of the world. On the contrary: Ladis is practically at the core of the winter sports region. The "Sonnenbahn" brings you from Ladis to the junction at Fiss, from where the "Schönjochbahn" and "Möseralmbahn" cover the entire north of Tyrol's Ski-Dimension.
